MillFest

Our friend Dan restored his family's Cleveland Roller Mill, an adobe flour mill powered by a water wheel. It's now a museum. Along with friends Patti and Chloe, we went to Cleveland New Mexico for the MillFest.

During MillFest, Dan runs the mill and there is a craft fair and music in the beautiful mill setting.

Gary closes the gate on the acequia or irrigation ditch, which causes the water to turn the water wheel, running the mill. Although we didn't have electricity for several hours due to an outage in Cleveland, the mill ran just fine!

I always love to watch the traditional dancers!

Gary helped direct parking for the estimated 3,000 people at MillFest.
I love MillFest because it's an annual chance to see many of our friends in New Mexico, like Sandra who makes beautiful tile tables which she sells at the craft fair.

And Delia and Raymond, and Chris and Lauren.

And I took a day to go hiking with Pedro. We hiked up Sebastian Canyon, next to the United World College where I went to high school. We hiked up to the ridge and could see Storrie Lake on the other side.
